High Speed Satellite Internet Providers: Updated Offers

(HIGH SPEED SATELLITE INTERNET)-We’ve compiled a list of some satellite internet providers that have been recommended to us as safe and reliable sources.  Remember, when looking for a satellite internet provider that you determine if it’s necessary for you based on your geographical location.  In many cases satellite internet can be more expensive and slower in speed than the competitors on the market.  Satellite internet providers will try to sell there services to those in metropolitan areas often, even though that’s not the best route to take.  If you do live in a metropolitan area, look around Your-ISP-Guide.com for some of our other offers that may be more of a benefit to you.  If you are in an area where satellite internet is necessary, then here is a recommended list of providers that may be helpful to you:

Top 10 Satellite Internet Providers

High speed satellite internet providers are best when used in areas outside the boundaries of a metropolitan area.  Many ISP’s do not stretch their services towards rural areas.  As a result, you may have to pay a little more money per month to achieve high speed internet.  Many of the high speed satellite internet providers on the market offer services that are very reliable and fast for the desolate areas they cover.  Make sure that you check your options thoroughly before making your decision.  Two things to look at are the speed of the internet service and how that relates to the price of the internet service.

We want to hear your thoughts: What have been your experiences with high speed satellite internet providers? Are they really only meant for those in rural areas, or is there a service on the market that is actually a good choice for those in metropolitan areas? What are your experiences, if any, with the recomended satellite providers listed above?

Great for rural areas….not so good for metropolitan areas. I’m glad you told the truth about satellite internet providers. They advertise like everyone should use their services. Anyone living in a metro neighborhood using satellite internet needs the truth spoken.

I’ve tested the offer for Hughesnet Satellite internet. No problems there. I do live in a rural area, so it works out perfect. The price is great for where I’m at, and the connection speed is pretty good. I figured I’d lose my satellite internet connection often based on weather conditions, but it rarely ever happens. They also have solid customer service. The down side is that I have to have a satellite dish on my house. But thats the price I pay for living out in the middle of nowhere.

It’s a trustworthy offer…I’m not sure about the other ones though. If I do decide to move to a more metropolitan area, does anyone know where to go for a better and more affordable internet service provider? I’ve heard that cable internet is the way to go. It’s gotta be a little better than my satellite internet provider. I need high speed, and my satellite internet connection is fast, but…I want faster.

Satellite internet is usually a bust. I hope some of these offers are better than most of the satellite internet providers I come across.

Yeah, satellite internet is a bust for people like us, but it’s great for people in the middle of know where. It is a little more expensive, but you can get good internet service with a satellite provider.

I got a friend who has a cheap satellite internet provider and the speed is pretty good. He doesn’t live in the middle of know where though…would he be better off with a cable internet connection?

He probably would benefit from getting rid of his high speed satellite internet connection. Although, if it’s a good satellite service, maybe you should check it our and give me some feedback. I’m always on the lookout for a cheaper service.

I heard that satellite internet providers are going to try to strengthen their service to attract metropolitan areas more. Has anyone else heard this?

I’ve never had satellite internet service, and although it sounds rather interesting, it’s apparently got major latency (lag) issues. Just google “satellite internet latency issues.” So if you want to play online games or participate in other instant response online activities, dialup would work out better. Plus, with satellite, most providers have a “fair access policy,” meaning you’re not allowed to download/upload more than a certain amount of data per 24 hours or so, or else they’ll cut your speed down lower than that of dialup. Most of this is addressed at the HughesNet and Wildblue’s FAQs on their own website. It’s apparently more of a lag and FAP issue than a download/upload speed issue though, so normal browsing should be good with satellite.
